Patterson Visit, Cox and Cyprien Rundown
April 16, 2007 - 11:22 pm
Coach Billy Gillispie had an in-home visit with Patrick Patterson tonight. Patterson is an highly sought 6-foot-8 Huntington High (West Va.) PF, who’s list of schools include UK, Florida and Duke. Early reports are the meeting went well and that Patterson is still interested in UK.
As reported earlier, Gillispie named Jeremy Cox and Glynn Cyprien as assistants to his staff.
Glynn Cyprien is known as a great recruiter. Cyprien was an assistant coach this past season at Arkansas. He has also made stops at Western KY, where he was an associate head coach in 1995. He has also been an associate head coach at New Mexico State, and assistant coach under Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State from 2001-2004. He’s known to have a relationship with current recruit Jai Lucas, and many feel this might help with landing him.
Jeremy Cox last season was an assistant coach under Billy Gillispie at Texas A&M. He was also the head coach for Arkansas-Fort Smith Junior College, where he led them to the 2006 national junior college championship.
