Notebook
Jerry Tipton’s Basketball Notebook features many nice nice Kentucky tidbits this week.
He has info on what took place behind the scenes with Travis Ford’s hiring of former Cat Rodrick Rhodes to help out the UMass program. Also what Bob Hurley, Rick Pitino and Billy Donovan had to do with it.
Some things about the UK Vs UMass debacle. Learn what Travis Ford had to say after recently speaking with coach Billy Gillispie.
A small Q&A with coach Billy Gillispie, who recently threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Legends game.
There’s also a blurb on UK staging its annual photo day last week. The interesting part here, Alvin Brooks was in attendance. Brooks has been rumored for some time as being named Kentucky’s third assistant.
You’ll also find some things on Garrett Stutz, Tubby Smith and Lukasz Obrzut.
New Trainer
Eric Fry was named athletic trainer for Kentucky men’s basketball.
I look forward to being a part of it,” he said in the release. “This is the best college basketball job in the country and I’m excited to be a part of the family as well as the department of sports medicine.”
$100 Fine
Former Cat Randolph Morris pleaded guilty and agreed to pay a $100 fine. Morris was arrested last month on reckless driving, after an officer spotted him doing over the speed limit and failing to use a turn signal.
