Kentucky at Houston: Game Thoughts

December 19, 2007 - 9:32 pm

The site troubles are hopefully fixed now, so missing post should now be up.

“Hump Links” will return next week.

I wanted to give some quick comments on the game.

It was another disappointing loss for the Cats last night. We simply were just was outplayed by a better team. You got to hand it to Houston, they played great all around ball.

I don’t know if having Patrick Patterson playing would of made a difference really.

Speaking of Patterson, he was a late scratch due to an ankle injury. I was wondering why he wasn’t on the floor when the coverage came on.

Jodie Meeks made his return from injury and was lighting it up in the first half. The second half was not as good, but I’m sure the fatigue had caught up with him. Not playing consistent for so long will do that to you. There were a couple times he hit the floor and I’m sure many out there including myself were like “Oh please…No..No..” I surely didn’t want him to re-injure himself.

Joe Crawford came out scoring and looking to score. It seemed like the “Bald” one wanted to make a point. Unfortunately, his defense doesn’t match his offensive tenacity. He also gets that mentality of trying to do to much and ends up turning the ball over way too much.

I really thought Jared Carter looked good in the limited action he seen.

One thing I’ve noticed is our defense has not been very good. This is something that must be improved. We are allowing these teams to light it up from outside.

It was good seeing Keith Bogans and Chuck Hayes at the game, but they didn’t have a lot to cheer about. The looks on their faces said it all.

I just don’t know what to think about this season so far. Yes, it’s no doubt been disappointing, but I’m sticking with them forever…Good or bad. It’s just difficult seeing all the nonsense that goes on with some of the so-called “Fans” and “Haters”, with all the name calling, blaming etc. There’s a good way at doing things and a bad way…I guess.

These are some tough times in “Wildcat Land”, but as I’ve said before….You just got to have some patience.
