SEC Tourney: Revised Scheduled
March 15, 2008 - 10:53 am

I stayed up late last night/this morning so I could report on new times being announced etc. But eventually I had to call it a night and get some rest in.
Times and the course of events have now came out. It’s not good for UK fans or any other fans for that matter.
So much for having that first round bye and the huge fan support.
Here’s the official word…
Access to the remaining games of the championship will be limited to student-athletes’ family members, cheerleaders, bands and other credentialed individuals.
Game Times
Saturday, March 15
Game 8 – Georgia vs. Kentucky – 12 p.m. ET
Game 9 – Tennessee vs. Arkansas – 6 p.m. ET
Game 10 – Mississippi State vs. Winner of Game 8 – 8:30 p.m. ET
Sunday, March 16
Game 11 – Championship Game (Winner Game 9 vs. Winner Game 10) – 3 p.m. ET
I’m not happy as most are at this point. I don’t know what other course of action they could have possibly taken. Perhaps just cancel the Tournament entirely, who knows?
Kentucky has not even played a game yet and all the other teams have.
It’s just not fair in many aspects. I think it probably hurt Kentucky the most. Kentucky has a huge contingent down there and that would play well for us. Also we have players that play alot of minutes and if we were to win. We would have to play again later with the possibility of tired legs etc.
On the other hand… You do have to look at what the Tournament officials are faced with. Moving to a much smaller arena, short turnaround time/notifications, ticket and seating woes etc.
I have a feeling this won’t be the end to this saga. I expect legal issues to arise from this. There are fans that spent a lot of money on travel, tickets etc. and they will want to be compensated for this.
It’s basically woulda, shoulda, coulda at this point. Make best of what we got and cheer the ‘Cats on to victory.
